I work with words.
You can find them in magazines, books, blog posts, emails, and the (very) occasional tweet.
About me
I’m a writer and editor based in Brooklyn, where I live with my husband, two young kids, and an old pit bull. My career started at Wired magazine, where I covered the intersection of design, technology, and science. I got the chance to report on fascinating topics like how synthetic biologists are upending the idea of design and why artists can help make technology more human. It was a lot of fun! After 5 years at Wired, I wanted to try my hand at building something from the ground up, so I left to join the American Institute of Graphic Arts where I helped run its digital publication Eye on Design, as well as its award-winning print magazine. While I was there, I worked on stories about the rise of calm technology, the hidden history of Magic Eye, the strange new world of personal branding, and how empathy has become a marketable word. I’m currently a senior editor at Fast Company, where I lead a team of writers who cover everything from technology to architecture to retail to branding. In my spare time, I love to work on book projects and can suggest a few you might like to read. You can see more of my work below.
